PBCOM EMPLOYEES CASTED THEIR #VoteForEarth

VOTE FOR EARTH

Last May 21, 2022, in line with PBCOM’s ongoing PBCOM goes GREEN campaign, the Bank joined the Tree Planting & Clean-up Program for the Marikina River Ecosystem called “Luntiang Marikina” initiated by La Liga Mariquina, co-sponsored by the city Government of Marikina and  the Department of Environment and Natural Resources National Capital Region Office (DENR-NCRO).

Led by our President & CEO Ms. Patricia May Siy, more than 100 eco-warriors, employees, and their families joined in the planting of 40 assorted fruit bearing trees such as Avocado, Balitbitan, Palawan Cherry, Cashew, and Langka; and cleaning up a few kilometer stretch of the riverbank.

In line with the Bank’s sustainability endeavors, PBCOM has launched the PBCOM goes GREEN campaign in 2021, a long-term initiative of the Bank to be more environmentally conscious in its operations. In an effort to build an office culture that promotes environmental sustainability, this initiative continues to educate employees on the environmental impact of the bank’s day-to-day activities.

Since the launch of the #PBCOMgoesGREEN campaign, several sub programs have been launched. First is the “Ayaw ko ng Plastic” program banning the use of single-use plastics within the office premises. PBCOM has also launched the “Wag kang Ma-Papel”, a program that rewards teams and departments from within the organization that significantly reduces their use of copy papers; and #VoteForEarth, a clean-up and green-up drive to protect the environment.
