PBCOM, in its pursuit to be more involved in the communities where it is present, has been actively participating in the various activities of La Liga Mariquina (LM) since 2019. With the common goal of helping build a better nation for the younger generation, both PBCOM and La Liga Mariquina has been partnering in various environmental, educational, and social programs.
Last April 4, LM, through its President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees - Mr. Jahn Alejaga, presented a token of appreciation to PBCOM through its President and CEO - Ms. Patricia May Siy, for the Bank’s support to the various initiatives of LM. During this brief meeting, LM and PBCOM has further strengthened their partnership, and agreed to launch several initiatives for the community: a holistic livelihood program that aims to educate and equip the less privileged women of Mariquina into starting their own micro business; a volunteer-teacher program for PBCOM employees doing online tutoring for LM’s partner schools and orphanages; a clean-up and tree planting activity at Marikina river banks; and; a student to employment program marrying LM’s internship program and PBCOM’s Management Training Program.
“The ultimate goal is to support expand La Liga Mariquina’s already effective social programs by contributing to their needed resources. With PBCOM and employees doing our part, we are excited to see these plans come into fruition, and be able to help the less privileged members of our society.” – Ms. Patricia May T. Siy, PBCOM President and CEO
